What the achievement asks
Complete all four Hunt types in The Maw. Ten points, account-wide, both factions.
The Hunts happen in The Beastwarrens, in the south-east of the zone. One type is active at a time and they rotate, so this is four separate visits at minimum, spread over days.
Read this before you go
There is a long-standing trigger bug. You arrive, the map shows the event, and nothing starts: no progress bar, no objective, and a boss standing there in a casting animation that cannot be attacked. It has been reported across years and patches, and it is the reason this achievement blocks people out of the whole Shadowlands meta.
The fix that works: take the Animaflow Teleporter to the Beastwarrens instead of flying there. It sits in Ve'nari's Refuge, to the right of the Torghast portal, and it is not the smaller teleporter that goes to Korthia. Arriving that way triggers the event properly.
If it still will not start, leave the hunt area entirely, do a full logout and back in (not a UI reload), and return. Both fixes are reported working by many people, on characters at very different standings with Ve'nari.
Getting into the Beastwarrens at all
The area opens through Ve'nari's own questline, at Rule 6: Concealment is Everything, which asks for 15 Broker Hunting Runes and a Cypher of Dampening used inside the Beastwarrens.
Some people find the Hunts only start giving credit after they have actually run that chain, so if the achievement is refusing to move, finishing Rule 6 properly is worth doing before anything else.
The four Hunts
| Hunt | What it wants |
|---|---|
| Shadehounds | Ends on the Gorged Shadehound. Its loot is locked to once a week |
| Soul Eaters | Kill 20 Displaced Soul Eaters before the ritual bar fills to 100 |
| Winged Soul Eaters | Grab a hook from the ground, five charges, use it to kill 10 Anima Devourers, then the Alpha Anima Devourer |
| Death Elemental | The one nobody writes up. No trick reported for it |
Soul Eaters is the one people fail. The hound in the middle eats the mobs you need, and its meal counts against you rather than for you. Pull each one out of the ring with a ranged attack the moment it spawns, kill it outside, and the ritual bar stays behind you.
Winged Soul Eaters hides its boss. The Alpha Anima Devourer does not stand where the map icon is; it is around 46 65, and a target macro finds it faster than looking.
If the kill does not count
It happens, and it is not always the bug above: people finish the whole hunt and see no criterion tick.
The workaround is simple. Kill the end boss again. The bonus objective and the map marker will both be gone by then, and it still registers.
While you are down there
The Beastwarrens are also one of the twelve stops for Explore The Maw, and the Hunts sit in the middle of a zone that has to be circled anyway for its rares. Four forced visits are four laps you would have made regardless.
