What the achievement asks
Buy any five of Ve'nari's thirteen permanent upgrades. Ten points, account-wide, both factions.
Only two things stand between you and it: Stygia, and how much Ve'nari currently thinks of you. Every upgrade is a straight purchase, and once bought it is yours for good.
Two of the names on the tracker are wrong
Blizzard never updated the achievement's internal criteria list, so two entries do not match anything on Ve'nari's stock list. This trips people up more than the achievement itself.

The cheapest five
3643 Stygia, if you have reached Ambivalent: the Vessel, the Sigil, the Talisman, the Pockets and the Traversal Enhancer.
Only four upgrades are on sale at Apprehensive, so the fifth purchase always waits on at least Tentative. If you are stuck low, the cheapest set she will actually let you buy is the Vessel, Pockets, Traversal Enhancer, Encased Riftwalker Essence and Sigil, for 3998 Stygia at Tentative.
Buy the Encased Riftwalker Essence early whatever else you pick. The Chaotic Riftstones cut the walking in the Maw down enormously, and every other Maw achievement is a lap of the zone.
Where the Stygia comes from
Rares, daily quests, chests and Torghast all pay in it, so this achievement funds itself while you chase the rest of the zone. Do not spend it all on the big-ticket items first: Spatial Realignment Apparatus alone costs 7200, which is roughly twice what all five achievement purchases cost together.
Ve'nari's regard comes first
Standing is the real gate here, not gold. Trading Partners takes her to the top rung, and along the way it opens every purchase on this list.
