What the achievement asks
Earn 200 Unearthed Fragrant Coins from the public objectives of Zaralek Cavern. Five points, account-wide.
Where the coins come from
Public events in Zaralek Cavern are marked on your map with a small horn icon. Finish one and you are handed a pouch of coins.
You do not have to carry the event. Tagging the boss or taking part once is enough for credit, which makes this one of the least demanding achievements in the expansion: it costs attention rather than effort.
How much you contribute does change the payout. A light contribution gives a clinking pouch worth 1 to 5 coins; a real contribution gives a clanging dirt-covered pouch worth 6 to 9. Over two hundred coins that difference is the whole achievement, so it is worth actually fighting rather than tagging and flying off.
The counter runs at double
Players consistently report the tracker moving twice as fast as the coins they actually loot: 93 coins looted showing as 186 progress, and the achievement landing at around a hundred real coins rather than two hundred.
Nothing is broken and there is nothing to do about it. Take it as good news: the achievement is roughly half as long as its wording says.
The event that is worth planning around
The large Researchers Under Fire event in the middle of the cavern pays far more than a small public objective, and its first completion each week pays a much larger pouch than later ones.
Turning up for that once a week gets you further than grinding small events daily, and it also gives you Nothing Stops the Research in a different branch entirely, so the trip pays twice.
