Thirty-five rares across Nazjatar, eight of which must be summoned and one that has no location at all.

What the achievement asks

Kill thirty-five rare creatures across Nazjatar. Ten points, account-wide, both factions.

It is the longest rare list in Battle for Azeroth, and unusually few of them are simply standing there waiting. Eight have to be summoned or provoked, three share a single spawn between them, one has no fixed location at all, and several roam over half a subzone.

The full lap

Thirty-four points for thirty-five rares. The missing one is Sandcastle, which has no location to give.

SandcastleNo fixed spot: it appears by chance when you open a Scrying Stone treasureWatch

Sandcastle is the one that will hold you up

Every other rare on this list can be gone to. Sandcastle cannot: it has a chance to appear when you open one of the buried treasures found with a Scrying Stone, anywhere in the zone.

There is no waypoint that helps and no way to make it more likely. The only approach is volume, which is why this criterion tends to be the last one standing.

That volume is not wasted. Opening scrying treasures is exactly what Nothing To Scry About asks for, a hundred of them, so the two achievements are the same activity and are worth chasing together.

Eight of them will not appear on their own

Standing on the coordinate and waiting does nothing for these.

  • Tidelord Aquatus and Tidelord Dispersius each appear when you kill an Azsh'ari Invoker nearby.
  • Tidemistress Leth'sindra needs five Undisturbed Specimen eggs destroyed.
  • King Gakula comes out when you click a Bloodfin Tadpole.
  • Urduu is underneath a Staghorn Reefwalker: kill the reefwalker standing on him.
  • Kelpwillow wants a Muck Slug, turned with a Prismatic Crystal and led to him.
  • Oronu wants a Drowned Hatchling brought to him.
  • Voice in the Deeps is buried under stones that a molted shell will break.

And Banescale the Packfather is a chance spawn after Siltstalker the Packmother dies, so kill her whenever you pass and check back.

The three matriarchs share one spawn

Scale Matriarch Gratinax, Scale Matriarch Vynara and Scale Matriarch Zodia are three separate criteria occupying a single spawn between them. Only one is up at a time.

When the active one is killed and its body fades, roughly an hour later one of the three returns, chosen at random. Any of them can come back on any day, so this is not a daily rotation you can plan around: it is patience and a one in three chance each time.

Check all three coordinates whenever you are nearby, because the one that is up may not be the one you still need.
