This is the longest thing in the branch
There is no shortcut and nothing to buy. Renown comes from world quests, weekly quests, events, rares and the zone storylines, and it moves at the speed the calendar allows.
Renown is account-wide and it never resets, so every character you play feeds the same four bars. And renown catches up: a faction you start late pays more per activity than one you have been grinding since launch, which makes coming to this now considerably faster than it was at the time.
Do the things that pay several bars at once
The zone storylines. Every optional storyline pays a one-time warband bonus of reputation with its zone's faction, usually 500 apiece. Those are the four Sojourner achievements in this same branch: Sojourner of Isle of Dorn, Sojourner of The Ringing Deeps, Sojourner of Hallowfall and Sojourner of Azj-Kahet. Fifty-odd storylines between them is a very large lump of renown for work you owe anyway.
The lore objects. All twenty in Khaz Algar Lore Hunter pay 250 reputation each with their zone's faction, and clicking twenty signs is an hour.
The weekly quests. Each zone has its own, and they are the steady drip that decides how many weeks this takes.
Watch what each rank opens
Renown ranks are not only bars. Renown 3 with the Council of Dornogal opens the Theater Troupe, renown 21 finishes A Star of Dorn, and renown ranks with the Hallowfall Arathi and the Severed Threads gate storylines you need elsewhere.
So do not treat this as a grind to be endured at the end. Check what has unlocked each time a rank ticks over, because a great deal of the rest of the meta is waiting behind these four bars.
