What the achievement asks
Craft five different protoform creatures at the forges of Zereth Mortis. Five of them, not all: it is the first step of a series that ends at fifty-two.
Ten points, account-wide, both factions.
What a creature costs
Every protoform pet or mount is assembled at a forge from three kinds of thing:
- Genesis Motes, the bulk currency, gathered all over the zone.
- A lattice matching the creature's family: helicid, vombata, bufonid, and so on.
- A glimmer, for the more elaborate ones.
The motes are the part that takes time. The cheapest five will still run to a few thousand between them, and motes come from the zone's daily work rather than from any single source.
Pick the five cheapest, not the five prettiest
The achievement does not care which five. Since a full collection of the twenty-eight pets runs to more than eight thousand motes, and everything including the mounts to over eighteen thousand, choosing badly here costs days.
Look at what each schematic asks for before spending anything. Five creatures sharing a common lattice cost a fraction of five that each need their own, and the achievement reads them the same.
The schematics come from the zone
You cannot craft what you have not learned, and the schematics are scattered through Zereth Mortis: treasures, rares, the daily quests and the vendors.
That makes this achievement a by-product rather than a target. Anyone working through Treasures of Zereth Mortis and Adventurer of Zereth Mortis will collect schematics and motes without trying, and five creatures follow on their own.
This is the first of a ladder. The same forges carry achievements for larger numbers, up to every creature in the zone, so nothing spent here is wasted if you decide to keep going.
