Twenty-nine rares, eleven of which are simply not there on most days.

What the achievement asks

Kill twenty-nine rare creatures across Zereth Mortis. Ten points, account-wide, both factions.

Nine of them will not appear at all until you do something first, one needs a second player, one is fished out of the water, and eleven of the twenty-nine simply are not there on most days. That last point is the one that matters, and it is why people conclude the achievement is broken.

Eleven of them do not spawn every day

Zereth Mortis rotates part of its rare list. These eleven are on that rotation:

  • Akkaris
  • Chitali the Eldest
  • Euv'ouk
  • General Zarathura
  • Gorkek
  • Hadeon the Stonebreaker
  • Sorranos
  • Tethos
  • Vexis
  • Vitiane
  • Xy'rath the Covetous

Flying to their coordinates on a day they are not up finds nothing, and nothing on screen explains why. Check the zone's rare list before making the trip, and take whatever is up rather than hunting a particular one.

The other eighteen behave normally: they respawn on a timer and are there whenever you pass.

Nine will not appear on their own

Standing on the coordinate does nothing for these, and it is the second reason the list looks broken.

  • Gluttonous Overgrowth needs five Bulging Roots pulled out of the ground around it.
  • Orixal replaces an Overgrown Helicid, sometimes, about eight minutes after you kill one.
  • Garudeon wants three Energizing Leporids brought to the Hungry Nestling.
  • Otaris the Provoked comes out when the two elites beside it die.
  • The Engulfer appears once The Matriarch is saved.
  • Furidian is behind the Suspiciously Angry Vault, which takes three keys.
  • Zatojin needs twenty stacks of Paralytic Sting, taken from the small wasps.
  • Hirukon is not a creature you fight your way to: you fish it up, from the water just north-west of its coordinate.
  • Protector of the First Ones is the only one that cannot be done alone. Four sigils drop the barrier to its cave and they have to be pressed together, so bring somebody.

Two more worth knowing before you go

Tahkwitz is in the air, high above its coordinate. Without flying you need something that lifts you, and the fight itself is easier fought next to a pillar.

Gorkek has three spawn points rather than one, spread across the east of the zone. Finding nothing at the first is not the same as it being absent that day.
