What the achievement asks
Reach 100 skill in the Winterpelt language, which lets you understand the furbolgs. Ten points.
Be clear about what it gives you: you will understand Winterpelt in quest text and dialogue. You cannot type in it. The achievement wording suggests otherwise and it disappoints a steady stream of people.
Unlocking the farm
Go to Sonova Snowden in the north-east of The Azure Span, at 65.4 16, and complete Primalist Pillagers and Honor Their Sacrifice.
That opens the three quests that actually let you collect and hand in language items: Academic Acquisitions, Additional Academic Acquisitions and Astonishing Academic Acquisitions.
Until those are taken, the items simply do not drop. Players who go straight to the furbolg camps and kill for twenty minutes with nothing to show for it have skipped this step.
The arithmetic

A hundred points therefore means 500 artifacts, or 100 sticks, or any mix of the two.
That sounds enormous and is not. Both drop from the same mobs, the Ritual Guardians and Ritual Scouts around the furbolg ritual sites, and they drop generously. Players report gathering 600 artifacts and 18 sticks in a little over half an hour, which was more than enough. Thirty to forty-five minutes is the usual figure for the whole achievement.
If you cannot speak it afterwards
A known oddity: some players finish the skill and find the language still not working. Leave your party and try again. Nobody has explained why that fixes it, but it does, repeatedly.
Where it fits
One of twelve under Oh My God, They Were Clutchmates, a piece of A World Awoken. It is the shortest of the twelve by a wide margin, so it is a good one to clear on an evening when you do not want to commit to anything.
